Dollars for Scholars

Dollars for Scholars Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of North Reading is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to North Reading residents pursuing education beyond high school.

The Town of North Reading is an outlying suburban town in Middlesex County, lying entirely within the watershed of the Ipswich River. It was created as an Êindependent town in 1853 and retains a number of well-preserved houses dating back to 1730. The town center retains its complete historic fabric with a Federal style meeting house and an affluent Federal village with a well-preserved district of period houses. Photo of North Reading

Since our inception in 1963, we have provided assistance in excess of $700,000 to over 1,600 North Reading residents. Our officers and committee members are volunteers from the North Reading community.  We are a local chapter of Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America, and are associated with New England Dollars for Scholars.

Please support the high school students who will be calling during our annual phone-a-thon, and hosting local fundraising events to fund the Dollars for Scholars program.

Special Thank You to Dennis Marasca

Dennis Marasca served as President of the Dollars for Scholars Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of North Reading between 1998 and 2010, a twelve year term of service.  He leaves a legacy of well-organized and efficiently run monthly meetings.  Behind the scenes, Dennis was dedicated to the performance of many tasks to make the organization successful.  Dennis Marasca continues to help by assisting newly elected President, Tony Terrizzi, in the transition of leadership.  Dennis has also offered the continued use of his North Reading accounting office, Management Control Incorporated as one of the locations used for the annual CSF phone-a-thon, the main source of funding for the scholarship program.

Deadlines: Scholarship Applications are due by April 1 and are available at Town Hall, Flint Memorial Library, and the High School Guidance Office!
